How to redeem gift cards at checkout

Gift cards work as a payment method. You can redeem them from a completed appointment checkout or from Quick sale. Selling cards is covered in how to sell gift cards.

At appointment checkout

1. Open the completed appointment and start Checkout.
2. Add a payment row and choose Gift card as the method.
3. Enter or scan the code (dashes are optional) and use lookup to confirm the balance.
4. Apply the amount to redeem — use additional rows for cash, card, or Bizum if the balance does not cover the full total.
5. Complete checkout to issue the invoice and debit the gift card ledger.

At Quick sale

1. Build the cart and open Charge.
2. Select Gift card, enter the code, look up the balance, and split with other methods if needed.
3. Finish the sale — the invoice records the gift card payment and the card balance updates.

If redemption fails

1. Confirm the card is Active (not blank, pending payment, expired, depleted, or cancelled).
2. Check currency matches the sale and the amount does not exceed the remaining balance.
3. After a refund of a gift-card-paid sale, the balance is restored automatically; use Adjust on the card only for exceptional corrections.
