How to sell gift cards

Gift cards live under Gift cards in Service Management. Selling a card creates a non-fiscal liability (MPV): VAT is charged later when the customer redeems the balance at checkout. See also how to redeem gift cards and how to order and sell physical gift cards.

Sell a gift card in person

1. Open Gift cards and select Sell gift card.
2. Enter the card name, sale price, and face value (they can differ for promotions).
3. Optionally set an expiry date, purchaser details, recipient, and a personal message for the certificate.
4. Choose how the customer paid (cash, card, Bizum, bank transfer, or other) and save.
5. Download or open the gift certificate PDF with the code, QR, and standard terms when it is ready. The certificate is not a tax invoice — VAT applies when the balance is redeemed.

Activate a pre-printed blank card

1. From Gift cards, select Activate blank card (or open a card from a batch).
2. Scan or type the printed code, enter purchaser details, and set price/face value if the batch is not fixed-value.
3. Record the payment method and save — the card becomes active and a certificate is generated.

Enable online gift card orders

1. Open Service settings → Gift cards.
2. Turn on online sale, add payment instructions (for example bank transfer details), and define preset offerings (name, price, face value, optional expiry days).
3. Share your public purchase link: /book/{your-slug}/gift-card (also linked from the booking page when online sale is on).
4. Online orders stay Pending payment until staff confirms payment on the card detail page with Activate.

From Quick sale

On the Quick sale hub (sidebar primary action when Service Management is enabled) you can jump to Sell gift card or Activate blank card. Gift card sales stay on the gift-card flow (not as invoiced cart lines) so MPV treatment is preserved.

Tips

1. Cancel a card only when you need to stop redemptions; remaining balance is written off.
2. Use Adjust on the card detail page for manual credits or corrections after refunds if needed.
3. Direct card checkout for online gift card purchases (Stripe) is not available yet — online buyers pay via your instructions, then staff activates.
